Breakfast with the Beatles

Back in my LA days, for as long as i can remember, sunday morning was saved for the Beatles.  KLSX had a show call Breakfast with the Beatles and it would be filled with songs and stories and bantering by Deirdre O'Donoghue, who i adored listening too.  she was opinionated and honest and knew everything about the Beatles. After she passed i didn't much listen to the show anymore.   As a kid, the Beatles were very important to me, because my dad loved the Beatles and i was daddy's little girl (for a time, anyway.)

In my early twenties, i dated a boy who turned me on to Rufus Wainwright. We would wake up early on sundays and listen to Rufus and then walk to Larchmont for coffee. Me in last night's clothes, and him in those white prada slip ons.  Anyhow, after we broke up, i continued to listen to Rufus on Sunday mornings.

It wasn't until i moved to New York, (my new beginning) that i started to do things i remembered making me happy as a child.  those Beatles sunday mornings was one of them.  There are loads of things i'm 'redoing' as an adult that are making me discover where i came from and what made me what i am today.  All this is making me the person i want to become.  (i hope.)
