The day I saw Sir Paul

I never thought much about working 5 blocks from the Ed Sullivan theatre until today. Today is the day that Sir Paul McCartney played atop the marquee for a few hundred fans, walkers-by, and damn lucky tourists, and me of course.

Okay, so i wasn't so close, but this was free, in the open street, and my first time ever seeing Paul!! I was very excited!! He played a few new songs and then went into Band on the Run, Get Back, Helter Skelter, and Back in the USSR!
A treat indeed! (An historic one at that!)

Not a cloud in the sky, but umbrellas were everywhere!

For a girl who rarely uses one, I was absolutely overcome with excitement when I walked by the Umbrella House Squat on Avenue C this afternoon. The only information I could dig up was a little from this NY Times article, which states it as "a once-derelict building on Avenue C named for its leaky roof" that was later taken over by squatters in the '80's.

After a bit of googling, I found this site, that has photos and locations of umbrella installations from around the world! Enjoy.

dog star

Cariad Harmon, a good friend of the Show, called up and asked if my pup Sailor would be available this weekend to be in a music video for one of her songs, Four Letters. Of course, being the stage mom I am, I said yes. We spent a few hours on a rooftoop in Brooklyn on Saturday shooting and surprisingly, Sailor was very well behaved and pulled no pup star tantrums.

Kisses to you!!

We can't wait to see the video for the first single off Cariad's new album due out Aug. 25th. Yay!

technical difficulties

Your Hostess was trying to be adventurous and went sailing with no previous experience whatsoever. She ended up getting hit straight on the noggin that big thing that holds one of the sails. She felt all right for the night. but the next day found herself in the ER with a big bump on her forehead and a massive headache. She left the ER with yummy... ahem, candy.

Now she's back, with plenty of fun to share! We have more adventures and interviews in store for you, so stay tuned!!!

Figment

A few weeks ago, Jackson from Superforest and I went to the Figment Festival, which took place on Governor's Island. (Remember it was on the list of things to do this summer?) I took a few photos...
...while Jackson shot this amazing quiet little video. Enjoy.
