As a follow up to our Christmas Eve Sideshow, Lynn Bixenspan and I attended Sabbath Service at The Village Temple on New Year's Day. I tried to sing in Hebrew, and was completely lost. Funny enough, Lynn was too. Enjoy our report on attending Temple.

Michelle and Lynn,
As president of the Sisterhood of The Village Temple, your summary of your experience attending worship services intrigued me.
As Lynn mentioned, those who come often to services "know" when to stand, to turn around to "welcome the Sabbath Queen" into the sanctuary, and when to sit. As a suggestion, whichever congregation you decide to visit next, consider sitting with someone more familiar with the rhythm of the service, who might guide you.
There were a number of people over age 50 at that service, including myself. But we do have a large segment of the congregation whose children study in the Religious School, making the parents 30-45 years old.
Other congregants are inter-married couples where one partner is of another race, plus a few "domestic partnerships."
True, there are fewer members in the 25-30 year old range, and that is typical of most religious institutions.
You are welcome to return to The Village Temple and participate in our upcoming services and events. Check the website www.villagetemple.org for news and our schedule.
